Tennessee REIN

We've crossed the range together
Been thru valleys and up a many hill
Circled all the show rings
Giving each crowd a thrill2 rescue horses

We've pushed cattle by the thousands
Carried mail from East to West
Pulled a plow through a million miles of furrows
It's been our never-ending quest

From the circus to the rodeos
Milk wagons to wagon trains
We've hauled freight across this country
Through the wind, the snow and the rain

We've run races in Kentucky
Hauled coal down from the mines
Been the envy of most every kid
Since the start of time

Yes we've given and we've given
Throughout our many years
We've been the reason for many smiles
Along with many tears

In science we are equine
To most others we are called a horse
Our purpose is helping others
It's been our charted course

Now the time has come that we're the ones
The ones who are in need
We ask you help our friends at Rein

While exact numbers are not available, Tennessee lies within the top 5 states in the U.S. with regards to per capita horse population; we are blessed to have so many horse owners in our area who take such care and pride in their equine companions. Unfortunately, circumstances sometimes occur that can make caring for these animals difficult. For example, droughts in recent years have made affordable hay a scarce commodity, and the recent floods also left some equines in crisis. Difficult economic circumstances have also affected the ability of area horse owners to properly care for their animals. Be it natural disaster or personal crisis, our beloved equine companions are sometimes the unfortunate victims. REIN's mission is to provide short-term assistance to horse owners in times of need.
